Character Analysis

For this assignment I decided to do a character that I’ve created, Frey Rocky from my story Metal Wasteland. In the beginning of the story we see how harsh Frey is as he yells about his missing work partner, instead of caring where she disappeared to. Although we do see how he weakens when his past is brought up, which is a very similar past to what his partner is going through.
When his work partner is found, he screams at her and puts her down. He pushed her to the point where she snapped and the tables turned. He thought about what she was going through, and how him being a jerk wasn’t helping. Then he starts being softer, more caring. He changes from being an accusing person to a calm caring person.
I found that Frey is really similar to Claudia Donovan from Warehouse 13 created by Jane Espenson and D. Brent Mote. In the 4th episode of Warehouse 13 we see how angry and upset Claudia is from losing her brother. Just how we see Frey angry and upset when his work partner is gone. Claudia becomes calmer when her brother is brought back, Frey becomes calmer when his partner returns.
Frey also has an uncanny and undescribed relationship with his brother. When his brother’s girlfriend dies he has to try to keep him happy, something Frey doesn’t really know how to do. We get to see Frey soften even more as he helps his brother get through it.  He learns that he needs to listen to other people’s problems if he wants them to listen to his.
